Concrete Driveway Installation in Auckland

A concrete driveway is one of the most durable, low-maintenance options available, but only when the groundwork underneath is done properly. Our concrete driveway service handles the full process, from excavation and base preparation through to pouring, finishing, and curing, ensuring your driveway is built to last rather than crack within a few seasons. Auckland's wet winters, sudden subtropical downpours and reactive clay soils place real demands on driveway construction — clay swells when it's saturated and shrinks back through a dry summer, and a slab sitting on a poorly compacted base moves with it. That makes proper drainage and base compaction just as important as the concrete itself. We design every driveway with correct fall and drainage in mind, directing water away from your home and garage rather than allowing it to pool. Whether you're installing a brand-new driveway or replacing a failing surface, our team manages the full process as one coordinated job, delivering a finished driveway that performs well through Auckland's demanding weather for years to come.

What We Deliver

Driveway Installation, Designed Around Your Property

01

Our Concrete Driveway Installation Process

Almost every failed driveway we're asked to replace failed underneath, not on top. That's why we spend as much effort on the base as on the pour itself.

Site assessment and setout — we check levels, access, and where water needs to go before we mark out the driveway.

Excavation — we dig out to the depth the base and slab need, removing soft spots and unsuitable material rather than building over them.

Base course and compaction — hardfill goes in and gets compacted in layers, because a base compacted in one thick lift is not compacted.

Formwork and reinforcing — forms are set to the correct falls and mesh or fibre reinforcement goes in on chairs, not thrown on the ground.

Pour and finish — concrete is placed, screeded, and finished in the texture you have chosen, whether that is broom, exposed aggregate or plain.

Joints and curing — control joints are cut at the right spacing and timing, then we cure the slab properly before it takes any traffic.

Why Choose Our Concrete Driveway Team in Auckland

We don't cut the base short to win a price. If your driveway needs 150mm of compacted hardfill because the subgrade is soft clay, that's what goes in — building a thin base to hit a number just moves the cost to you in three years' time.

Fall and drainage get designed, not improvised. A driveway that sheds water toward your garage door or ponds at the low end is a permanent annoyance, and it's completely avoidable if the levels are set before the forms go up.

We handle removal of your old driveway as part of the job too, including breaking out and carting away the existing slab, so you're not coordinating a separate demolition crew.

What Makes Our Auckland Driveway Contractors Different?

Control joints get cut properly. Concrete is going to crack somewhere — joints simply decide where. Cut them too late, too shallow, or too far apart and the slab cracks wherever it likes instead of where you planned.

Reinforcing sits where it's meant to. Mesh laid flat on the base does very little; mesh held up on chairs in the middle of the slab does the job it was paid for. It's a small thing that separates a driveway that lasts from one that doesn't.

We also manage curing rather than just pouring and leaving. Concrete needs to hold moisture while it gains strength, and Auckland's mix of hot sun and sudden rain makes that harder than people expect — so we protect the slab until it's ready.
